The Czech Republic were stunned in their opener as South Korea came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory. But some of the signs from the European nation were fairly positive, and confidence levels should not have been dented too much. For South Africa, the first match of their tournament could not have gone much worse, a 2-0 defeat vs Mexico with Yaya Sithole and Themba Zwane each seeing red. Bafana Bafana are winless in their last five games, so this is a great opportunity for the Czech Republic to get on the board.
Uzbekistan vs Colombia: Anytime goalscorer – Luis Diaz @ 2.05
Bayern Munich star Diaz is Colombia’s main man these days, top scoring for the South American nation in qualifying with seven goals. The ex-Liverpool man lit up European football while donning a Bayern jersey in 2025-26, finishing the campaign with 26 goals and 19 assists across all competitions. So while Uzbekistan have kept five clean sheets in their last seven matches, backing one of the world’s most in-form attackers at slightly better than evens feels like a great pre-match move to make.
Brazil to score over 2.5 goals vs Haiti @ 1.50
Brazil will be disappointed with the 1-1 draw vs Morocco last week, though Carlo Ancelotti’s side still generated five shots on target – and had opportunities to win the game. Vinicius Junior also scored a crucial confidence-boosting goal, and a match vs Haiti looks primed for a big Brazilian performance. Haiti did not look out of their depth in the 1-0 loss to Scotland, but the South Americans are a step up in class – and therefore should not have too many issues scoring multiple goals.
Netherlands vs Sweden: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.85
Netherlands opened their World Cup 2026 campaign with a 2-2 draw vs Japan, an enthralling match which displayed the best and worst of Ronald Koeman’s side. Shortly after, Sweden kicked things off by thrashing Tunisia 5-1, with strikers Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak each getting on the scoresheet. Things appear to be clicking quite nicely for Graham Potter’s team, and it seems likely the Scandinavians will look to take the game to the Dutch. With that in mind, as well as the fact goals have not been hard to come by at the tournament, backing both teams to score – an outcome which occurred in Sweden’s last seven games and four of Netherlands’ last five – looks a potentially profitable avenue to go down.
Germany vs Ivory Coast: Double chance – Ivory Coast win or draw @ 2.42
Germany flexed their footballing muscles last Sunday, destroying Curacao 7-1 with Kai Havertz netting a brace. However, Ivory Coast are a different proposition following a 1-0 victory over Ecuador in their opener, secured by a late Amad Diallo goal. Teenage winger Yan Diomande starred in that match, and the African nation are now on a run of four straight victories – a streak which includes a 2-1 win over France. As such, we are tentatively tipping the pre-match underdogs to continue an unbeaten start to World Cup 2026.
