Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest – Premier League 2026/27 Match Preview

by Danny

The first edition of the Oliver Glasner derby awaits us on Matchday 6 of the 2026-27 Premier League season.

Now in charge of Nottingham Forest, the Austrian manager returns to Selhurst Park after previously guiding Crystal Palace to FA Cup and Europa Conference League glory.

It remains to be seen what reception he receives, though the action on the pitch between these new-look sides should quickly take over from the dugout storyline.

Oh but lest we forget, Colombian full-back Daniel Munoz also returns to South London after completing a summer switch to Forest to reunite with Glasner – another side note worth jotting down!

Check out our full Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest preview below, with tips and the latest Premier League odds from the NetBet Sport platform.

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest Preview

It has been a tough start for Pierre Sage in the Palace hot-seat, with the Eagles winning just one of their five top-flight games thus far – the 3-2 victory at Fulham.

Palace drew 0-0 at Leeds in their previous outing, and things have fared better for them on the road in 2026-27.

Sage’s men lost 4-1 to Manchester City at Selhurst Park on Matchday 2, before a shock 3-2 home defeat to Ipswich at the start of September.

But Palace did claim a 4-0 win over Lech Poznan to open the Europa League campaign, a performance in front of their own fans which the new manager will hope serves as a blueprint moving forward.

Forest suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat to Coventry in their previous Premier League outing, made even more surprising by the fact it followed a 2-1 triumph at Aston Villa.

The Tricky Trees also impressed on the road against Liverpool on Matchday 2, claiming a 2-2 draw at Anfield in a match they probably should have won.

Forest are actually yet to score on home soil, with the loss to Coventry preceded by a 1-0 loss to Leeds and the 0-0 draw with Tottenham.

So it has been a bit of a mixed bag for Glasner in his new role, perhaps placing additional emphasis on a positive result being achieved here.

Amazingly, six of the last seven Premier League clashes between these sides ended in a draw, the previous three all finishing 1-1. A quite bizarre run of results in the head-to-head standings…

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest Betting Tips

Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.62

While BTTS did not land in either of these teams’ previous fixtures, this match – with the unavoidable Glasner impact – just has that feeling. Both teams scored in Forest’s two away matches in the top flight this season, as well as in each of Palace’s at Selhurst Park. Oh and BTTS was a winner in five of the eight Premier League contests between the sides, so the overall complexion suggests it is worth relying on here.

Player to score or assist – Morgan Gibbs-White @ 2.22

When it comes to playing away from home, Gibbs-White is among the best in the Premier League. The Forest star has scored or assisted in his last eight appearances on the road, a quite phenomenal record that makes him well worth backing at more-than decent odds.

Player to score or assist – Daichi Kamada @ 3.65

Tipping Kamada in this market is, of course, far more of a risk due his regular deployment as a deeper-lying midfielder. However, the Japan international has enjoyed a productive start to the Premier League campaign with three assists in five appearances. With such a good price on offer, Kamada could be a solid option.
