Champions League 2026-27 Matchday 1

Ladies and gentlemen, the Champions League is back!

And the 2026-27 season promises to be the best ever, with Paris Saint-Germain the defending champions.

PSG, Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Liverpool are viewed as the top contenders for glory this time around, and we are sure a few surprise packages will emerge too!

So, check out our first round of 2026-27 Champions League betting tips below, along with the latest football odds from NetBet Sport.

*All odds are subject to change

Club Brugge to beat Aston Villa @ 2.68

Club Brugge are four wins from five in the Jupiler Pro League this season, and are yet to concede on home soil. In stark contrast, Aston Villa are winless in 2026-27 – failing to even score a goal in the Premier League! Unai Emery’s men struggled in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Hull and it may take some time for the new signings to gel. With that in mind, backing the slight pre-match underdogs on home soil could be the play to make here.

Real Madrid vs Inter Milan: Anytime goalscorer – Kylian Mbappe @ 1.53

Mbappe surprisingly missed a stoppage-time penalty in last Friday’s 1-0 loss at Real Betis, but he has still started pretty well under Jose Mourinho’s rule. The Frenchman boasts four goals from as many La Liga appearances, and his recent stats in this competition are staggeringly good. Real Madrid’s main man netted 15 times in 11 appearances last term, a quite ridiculous record. Inter’s defence shipped two goals in their recent 3-2 comeback win over Napoli, and we are backing Mbappe to put Cristian Chivu’s back-line to the sword at the Bernabeu.

Porto vs Manchester City: Anytime goalscorer – Erling Haaland @ 1.90

After a stellar World Cup 2026 campaign with Norway, Haaland has continued to deliver in a Manchester City shirt. The striker has three goals in his first three Premier League appearances of the season after netting the crucial winner against Coventry last Saturday. Haaland also has 16 goals in his previous 19 Champions League outings, a return which only strengthens the appeal of this selection. Whenever you can get Haaland at close to evens to score in a match, it always feels worth a punt!

Barcelona vs Feyenoord: Barcelona total goals – Over 3.5 @ 1.77

Barcelona’s start to the 2026-27 season has been terrifyingly good. Hansi Flick’s men won all four of their La Liga contests and scored 17 goals along the way. Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez and Anthony Gordon represent one of Europe’s best forward-thinking quartets, so backing Barca to score over 3.5 goals for the fourth time this season looks a great bet to place. Feyenoord failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four Eredivisie games, conceding two goals in three of those contests. If the hosts score early at Camp Nou, you really do fear for the Dutch visitors…

Napoli vs Arsenal: Anytime goalscorer – Kai Havertz @ 2.70

Havertz has nailed down the No9 spot in Arsenal’s XI for now, with Viktor Gyokeres having to look on from the bench. The German forward has three goals from four appearances this season following his crucial equaliser in last Sunday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea. And we are backing him to deliver again vs a Napoli team still reeling from back-to-back Serie A defeats to FC Como (1-2) and – as mentioned earlier – Inter (3-2). Max Allergi is famed for his more pragmatic approach to football, but clearly it is taking time to get his message across to the players. Over to you, Kai!
