With the action now tantalisingly close, it is now time to provide you with our sports betting picks for Matchday 1 of the English top-flight season.

Check them out below, and all the latest Premier League odds are available to view on the easy-to-use NetBet Sport platform.

*All odds are subject to change

Arsenal vs Coventry: Player to score or assist – Martin Odegaard @ 2.23

After claiming four assists in five matches at World Cup 2026 with Norway, Odegaard delivered his best Arsenal performance in quite some time to help down Manchester City in the Community Shield. The midfielder was unplayable for the most part in Cardiff, and scored a brilliant goal to put the gloss on the Gunners’ 3-0 victory. Getting Odegaard to score OR assist vs newly-promoted Coventry at better than evens feels like serious good value as a result, especially with the match being hosted at the Emirates!

Hull vs Manchester United: Anytime goalscorer – Bryan Mbeumo @ 2.34

Benjamin Sesko is still returning to full fitness, so it is likely that Mbeumo lines up as Man Utd’s No9 at Hull. The Cameroon forward has benefitted from a full pre-season, which included three goals scored. Mbeumo netted at Brighton on the final day of 2025-26, with five of his 11 strikes last season tallied away from Old Trafford. So he gets our nod of approval ahead of kick-off at the MKM Stadium, with not many people giving Hull a chance of remaining in the top flight.

Manchester City vs Bournemouth: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.55

Defensively, City were all over the shop against Arsenal last Sunday, and were perhaps lucky to lose only 3-0 in the Community Shield. The performance must surely have provided Bournemouth with even more confidence ahead of their latest trip to the Etihad, a ground the Cherries scored at on each of the previous three visits. In fact, this BTTS pick has landed in the last five top-flight meetings between these teams, and we cannot see that trend changing on the opening weekend of 2026-27.

Newcastle vs Liverpool: Liverpool first goalscorer – Alexander Isak @ 3.00

The 2025-26 season was one to forget from Isak’s perspective. A serious leg injury and only three goals in 14 Premier League appearances, things could not have gone much worse following a British-record move to Liverpool from Newcastle. But 2026-27 offers fresh hope, and Isak looked sharp in pre-season under the leadership of Andoni Iraola, perhaps deserving more than the one goal to show for his efforts. A big away moment against a former employer which has endured a tumultuous summer? It just feels written in the stars.

Fulham vs Chelsea: Anytime goalscorer – Joao Pedro @ 2.33

Pedro’s form in pre-season has been nothing short of outstanding. After being surprisingly omitted from Brazil’s World Cup squad, the Chelsea striker has reminded the world of his quality with seven goals, including a brace in last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Real Sociedad. Pedro netted 15 times in the top flight last season, and has two goals in his last three appearances against Fulham. We are therefore struggling to understand why he is priced higher than evens to score here!
